Introduction by heart about our Special Vada Pav Recipe
Vada Pav is famous in Mumbai, but today it available everywhere in India also in foreign. Due to this popularity, many people will make this with their own style. So I also write here a new type of Vada Pav Recipe that I love so much. Actually, it’s not completely my secret… I will learn it from my friend in Bangalore. So let’s jump to the Vada Pav recipe.
Vada Pav meaning
Vada Pav = Vada + Pav. The word “Vada” comes from the Marathi food word “batata vada”, which means “Potato fritter”. “Pav” comes from the word of Portuguese “pao”, which means bread.
Vada Pav Recipe
Ingredients
For potato mixture / aloo mixture
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 2 pcs Green chilli finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Coriander leaf chopped
- 1/4 tbsp Turmeric / Haldi powder
- 2 pcs Potato big size
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp garlic chopped
Red Chatni
- 2 or 3 pcs Kashmiri red chillies dry
- 100 grams garlic
- 1/2 tbsp Black salt
- 1 tbsp Cumin powder(jeera powder)
- 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
- 100 ml water
For Coriander Chatni
- 4 tbsp Coriander leaf chopped
- 2 tbsp Mint leaf chopped
- 50 grams garlic
- 2 pcs Onions (big size) chopped
- 2 pcs Green chilli
- 1/2 tbsp Cumin powder(jeera powder)
- 1/2 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1/2 tbsp Black Pepper powder
- 2 pinch Salt
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Instructions
- Take 2 or 3 big size potato for boil and remove the skin clearly. Then smashed it with your hands and keep in a bowl.
- Firstly, in a large pan heat 2 tbsp oil.
- Add chopped garlic in it and fry.
- Now add smashed Potato in the pan.
- Also, add chopped green chili.
- Mix well and now put turmeric Powder and salt also with 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- Satate the whole potato with allspice and add chopped coriander leaf.
- Now stir upto 2 or 3 minutes in low-medium heat. Keep notice that it not burn.
- Let the mixture cool.
Now we make the special Red Chatni.
- Take 2 or 3 Kashmiri Dry Chilli and deseed it and soak it in hot water for 30 minutes.
- In a mixture grinder, take 100 grams garlic, 1 ½ tbsp black salt, 1 tbsp jeera(cumin) powder, 1 tbsp garam masala and 100 ml water. Grind well and your red chatni is ready.
- Take the chatni in a small bowl and keep it aside.
Let’s make the Green Chatni or Coriander chatni:
- In a mixture grinder, put chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, 50 grams garlic.
- Now add 2 big pieces of onion chopped in it.
- Then add salt, 2 green chilli, ½ tbsp cumin powder, ½ tbsp garam masala, ½ tbsp black pepper salt and half lemon juice, and grind well to make the coriander chatni.
Final step of Vada Pav Recipe
- Again heat a pan in the oven and put 2 tbsp oil with 1 tbsp butter.
- In hand, press the potato ball to make its size according to the pav and put into the pan for fry.
- Fry the potato ball well in both side, then put 2 tbsp red chatni in pan.
- Stir little and place the pav on it as same as picture.
- Fry the both side with the red chatni, it increase the taste of bread.
- Now put the potato ball on one pice of bread and cover with another one.
- Now make a little fry about 10 seconds and keep out the pav from pan.
- Now put sliced onion in every middle of pav.
- Put one tbsp red chaitni.
- Also put 1 tbsp of coriander chatni.
- Now your vada Pav is ready to serve.
