Homemade Paneer Pizza Recipe | Peppy Paneer

We know pizza is a dish of Italian origin, but it is a dish that is very famous all over the world. It is like a thin loaf made of wheat-based, topped with tomatoes, cheese & various veggies (capsicum, olives, chicken, cottage cheese, etc.). It is baked at high temperatures and served in hot conditions. So, let’s check today about the Paneer pizza recipe.

I love cottage cheese (Paneer) very much and today I will make Paneer Pizza that I love most and I think you will also love it after taste.

Some people think that pizza is very hard to make at home, but I can assure you that it’s really easy. Truly says, you can make it any time at home when you want.

Let’s jump to the homemade pizza recipe without delay.

There are basically 4 steps to making this pizza. Preparing the pizza sauce, making the pizza dough, prepare paneer & veggies and the last step is to decorate & bake the pizza.

So, we have to prepare the Pizza sauce first.


Making Pizza Sauce

For Pizza sauce, we need a few simple ingredients.

  • Tomato
  • Garlic
  • Ginger (optional)
  • Green chili
  • Basil leaves
  • Oregano
  • Chilli flakes
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Onion.

Boil the tomatoes a little and peel the skin from it. Make a tomato puree in a blender. Thereafter heat a saucepan with 2 tbsp of oil. Add chopped onion and garlic for fry. When onions turn into light brown, add tomato puree along with basil leaves, oregano, chili flakes, sugar, and salt.
Saute well until the sauce looks perfectly cooked. You can also add water. [If you see that the gravy or sauce becomes very watery, add 1/2 tbsp of cornstarch to make the gravy thicker.]


Making Pizza Dough

For making pizza dough you need very minimal ingredients and the process is also simple.

  • Refined flour or wheat flour
  • Yeast
  • Grain Sugar
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • 1/2 cup of Warm Water
  • Take a small bowl and add 1/2 tbsp of yeast along with 2 tbsp of lukewarm water. Add 1/2 tbsp of sugar and mix well with a spoon. The sugar will helps to yeast get active.
  • On another side, in a mixing bowl take 250 grams of refined flour.
  • Add salt as required. Then add a little butter. [You can use refined oil instead of butter.]
  • Add that active yeast mixture and mix well.
  • When you see all the ingredients are mixed well, add milk, and start kneading. You can also add lukewarm water if you feel the dough is too much dry.
  • After the dough is ready, apply some olive oil to make a light coat on this and let it rest for a minimum of 2 hours. [I suggest to keep it 24 hours to make double.]

Prepare Paneer & Veggies

  • Take the cottage cheese [Paneer] and cut it into cube shapes. Mostly I prefer 1/2 inch square shape, but the 1-inch square is also fine.
  • In this case, it will good if you marinate the paneer before decorating on pizza.
  • I know you will get surprised because this paneer marination is also with very minimal ingredients like salt, pepper, and chili powder. [Garam masala is most vital in Indian food, but I don’t use it in this.]
  • Mix all the spices with paneer cubes and let it rest for half an hour.
  • In this meantime, we can complete the vegetable chopping. I don’t like too many veggies in Paneer pizza, so I only use capsicum and paprika [Capsicum annuum varietals in the Longum group]. You can add onion, bell peppers, mushrooms whatever you want.
  • Slice the capsicums very thinly and dip in vinegar once. [It helps to bake it well.]
  • All the preparation is complete now. go forward to the most vital part.

Decorate & Bake the Pizza

  1. First, turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees for 10 minutes. In the meantime, we can decorate the pizza to bake.
  2. Take the dough and divide it into 4 equal parts. Round it up and place it on the pizza plate.
  3. Spread the dough evenly on the plate by hand. Then prick with a frock on all over the dough.
  4. Take one or two tbsp of pizza sauce and spread nicely on the pizza base.
  5. Spread grated cheese (Mozzarella + Cheddar cheese ) all over the sauce. Now there are many types of pizza cheese available in the market so you can use them if you want. Readymade pizza cheeses are similarly made with a combination of mozzarella and cheddar cheese. But now you know the secret.
  6. Arrange the chopped vegetables on it along with marinated paneer cubes. Some people fry this marinated paneer before use but it’s not mandatory.
  7. You can add another layer of grated cheese if you want, but I am absolutely perfect with only one coat of cheese.
  8. Sprinkle some dry oregano and red chili flakes on the pizza. Now your pizza decoration is ready and you can start baking.
  9. Open the oven and place the pizza in it. Set the timer on 15 minutes and the temperature should be 150 degrees.
  10. After the baking is done, put it out from the oven and serve hot with a cup of black coffee or chilled coke whatever you want.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

For Making Pizza Dough

  • 1 tbsp Yeast
  • ½ tbsp Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Water lukewarm
  • 250 grams Refine flour or whole wheat flour
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil or refined oil or melted butter
  • Salt as per requirement
  • ½ cup Milk lukewarm

For Paneer Marination and veggies

  • 250 grams Fresh Cottage Cheese cubed
  • 1 tbsp Black Pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Red chili powder
  • 1 nos Paprika thinly chopped
  • 1 nos Capsicum thinly sliced
  • ½ tbsp Vinegar

For Pizza decoration & baking

  • ½ cup Pizza sauce
  • cup Mozzarella Cheese grated
  • cup Cheddar Cheese grated
  • 2 tbsp Oregano dried and crushed
  • 1 tbsp Red chili flakes

Instructions
 

Making Pizza Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, take 1 teaspoon instant yeast and ½ teaspoon sugar.
  • Add 3 tbsp of lukewarm water and mix very well to get the yeast active.
  • In another large mixing bowl, take 250 grams of refined flour or whole wheat flour. Then add 2 tbsp of olive oil or melted butter along with salt and little sugar.
  • Mix well, then add milk and start kneading. Knead until the dough become soft and smooth. You can add milk occasionally.
  • Now spread some olive oil all over the dough.
  • Place a wheat cotton cloth covering the dough or pan. Keep the dough a minimum of 45 minutes till the dough increases in volume and doubles up. [I prefer to resting the dough overnight.
  • Your Pizza dough is ready.

  • Open the oven and place the pizza in it. Set the timer on 15 minutes and the temperature should be 150 degrees.
  • After baking is done, cut the pizza with a pizza cutter and serve immedieately.

Notes:

  • Some people use hung curd in the dough as a substitute of Yeast or some people uses this with yeast.
  • I also noticed some people use crushed corn (finely crushed, not powdered) in the pizza base. It will help to make pizza crust crunchier.
  • Although this is one of the most popular vegetarian recipes, you can add ham or chicken if you want.
